megan - White Chocolate Curl Wedding Cake

Photobucket

Yesterday I made this White Chocolate Curl Wedding Cake. I learned the technique of curling chocolate for it. It was easy when it worked for me. But I had a lot of failures curling the chocolate yesterday too. I will be doing a tutorial on it soon!

Here is the chocolate curl cake before the flowers had arrived to be put on. The inside of the cake was french vanilla cake with raspberry filling. Then covered in vanilla buttercream and white chocolate curls.

Here is the pic my hubby took of me doing some finishing touches. A few of the curls fell off during travel. Glad I brought extra!

It was a very pretty cake. And eating the chocolate curls was divine!!! They melted in your mouth and were excellent. I got the highest quality white chocolate available and LOVED it. I'm not normally a white chocolate fan at all.
It was fun to overhear people talking about this cake as I was working on it. Everyone couldn't wait to eat those chocolate curls and some were planning on stealing some off the back as soon as I left. The bride and her family were so nice. I really loved making this cake and working with them.

Truly spectacular cake! How much did you charge for this cake? My daughter is just beginning to explore prices for her wedding cake.

Wauwww that's a really spectacular cake! I wonder how you stack the cakes? What's on the top of the cake? also chocolate? Or buttercream ? but doesn't that stick to the other cake?
kind regards, Annelies
